What is Antipoda
Antípoda is an Alternative Rock project born in 1997 in Bogotá, looking forward to establish its music among young people worldwide.
The band expresses its music from within the context of a Colombian musician, his vision, cultural background and musical influences along with an avant-garde European production.
Even though the band members are professional musicians from Universidad Javeriana, ASAB and Universidad Nacional de Colombia, most of these rock related projects started in a garage and ANTÍPODA is not the exception. Their persistence and discipline have allowed them to become from a juvenile dream into a world-class Rock band

In our country good rock can be made and an example of it is ANTIPODA, a band from Bogotá that perfectly knows how to conjugate the opposites in order to evolve to the highest of musical creation. A different alternative that demonstrates that rock in my town does indeed have a promising present.

From Bogotá, the capital of Colombia, comes the rock/metal band that after more than ten years of work has become a musical and cultural sensation.
ANTÍPODA reunites musicians, mentalities and characters and have more than a decade performed, toured, recorded and appeared throughout the local music scene.
Their desire to produce an album with the highest artistic standards has led them to Swedish producer, Daniel Bergstrand, known for work with world-class bands such as Meshuggah, In Flames, Soilwork, Dark Funeral and Strapping Young Lad.
In a series of recording sessions between January and February of 2008 at the Dug Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden, Bergstrand directed, recorded and mixed ANTÍPODA' s long-awaited debut album "Manifesto".
Their successful collaboration reaffirmed the band's strong commitment and unique vision to present exciting new material that will extend far beyond international boundaries.
Fans hungry for artistic perfection can now taste the fruits of their labor with the release of this first single, aptly titled "Beyond". ANTÍPODA is here... and there's no turning back. We just have to listen, enjoy and admire.
